It's a cold, slow, watch-the-snow-melt sort of day. Nothing going on, nothing important enough to be worth going out in the cold, and I just finished my paperwork/design stuff. Damn. I'd hoped that would last through tomorrow.

Not a terribly productive day yesterday, either. Typed at classics_cat most of the morning, which meant I didn't get much knitting done. I just haven't figured out how to type and do stranded knitting at the same time. The other knitting project for the day was a thread doily, and I'm not confident enough with the lace knitting to do that while typing. But I did get about 1 1/2" done on the second alpaca sock (past the first stripe now).

The furballs earned their keep night before last. Yesterday morning, on my way to my chair for my tea mug, I stepped on something dark brown, cold, wet, and squishy. Thank the gods it was the one day I got up and put socks on! It appeared to be the inside squishy parts of a mouse; it was early and I didn't look that close. Well, in the afternoon, I go back to my chair, move the afghan, and guess what I find under the corner of the afghan? You guessed it, more mouse parts. Most of the mouse, actually, just the head chewed off. I'm hoping the two finds were two different mice. I REALLY hope the second find was the fuzzy little bastard that keeps messing around in the stove.

Sounds like your cuddly critters are doing the not-so-cuddly things for which they were intended.

Yeah, finally. It's about time, too. Couple weeks ago, they had one pinned, and the damn thing got away.

I suspect that Tuffy and Baggins are getting old enough they're losing interest in catching their own snacks. And the other two haven't been outside cats since we found them in the garage; I don't think they really have a well-developed mouse-killing instinct.
