...despite me checking on it every five minutes. I'm bored already. And tired. I left the house at 5:30 yesterday morning, and didn't get home until after 9 last night. I'd meant to go to bed early, but I was cranky after rehearsal, and it took me a while to relax enough to go to bed. So, I'm at work on little sleep, plus the fatigue of a long day and rock moving.

The comman appearance at the board meeting last night was fairly painless. I was informed by Maintenance Supervisor that funny as the idea was, I was NOT to march into the board room doing my best Cousin It impression. I told him they were all jealous becuse I'm the only one in the Maint Dept who can grow hair.

Got lots of rock moved and installed in that drain I've been working on. It's beginning to look finished. I think I'll need another load of largish rocks, then a pile of football to fist-sized pieces for the bottom, and that's easily done.

Rehearsal was...well, I made it through without smacking Bob. There were only three of us, and Susan was so diplomatic about stopping and showing Bob where he got off the beat, but gee whiz....The madrigals we were reading through were all in 2. How hard is it to count to "2" consistently? Just eighth notes, nothing fancy, a little syncopation, again nothing fancy. Argh. And he HAS to have the lead line, because he'd get more lost on anything else.

Truck's almost full, so I ought to go. Got just enough time left this morning to use this tank, refill it, and head off to meetings this afternoon. Happy happy. I get to argue with contractors this afternoon about warranty work. *wince*

Filling again. Ate my lunch, puttered online a bit, and plan to dash out to the car for my purse socks after I type this, since I finished the first orange alpaca sock (and forgot to bring yarn for the second). I probably won't get much time to knit this afternoon, since I have a meeting at 1:30 with my supervisor and a civil engineer to look at an erosion problem on the jogging trail, and another meeting at 2:30 with Maintenance Director and the landscape subcontractor for the parking garage, about the dead trees the subcontractor doesn't want to replace.

I plan to spend tomorrow knitting at my government job in the water truck, avoiding the surplus auction. And I get to leave an hour early, since I stayed late for that nonsense last night.

Other knitting news: I did accomplish one thing knitting-wise last night. I finally remembered to have By put a turtleneck on and then try on the black sweater I'm knitting for him, to make sure the armholes were the right depth (before I get the sleeves done and sewn in). It fit ok, so I'm back on track to getting that done. And he likes it. Once that's done, I need to pull out the Lopi sweater I'm doing for myself and finish it, probably a solid weekend's worth of knitting. Then The Sweater--I'd really like to finish that before it gets cold enough to wear it.
