The water truck's not full yet
Sep. 17th, 2004 09:23 am...despite me checking on it every five minutes. I'm bored already. And tired. I left the house at 5:30 yesterday morning, and didn't get home until after 9 last night. I'd meant to go to bed early, but I was cranky after rehearsal, and it took me a while to relax enough to go to bed. So, I'm at work on little sleep, plus the fatigue of a long day and rock moving.
The comman appearance at the board meeting last night was fairly painless. I was informed by Maintenance Supervisor that funny as the idea was, I was NOT to march into the board room doing my best Cousin It impression. I told him they were all jealous becuse I'm the only one in the Maint Dept who can grow hair.
Got lots of rock moved and installed in that drain I've been working on. It's beginning to look finished. I think I'll need another load of largish rocks, then a pile of football to fist-sized pieces for the bottom, and that's easily done.
Rehearsal was...well, I made it through without smacking Bob. There were only three of us, and Susan was so diplomatic about stopping and showing Bob where he got off the beat, but gee whiz....The madrigals we were reading through were all in 2. How hard is it to count to "2" consistently? Just eighth notes, nothing fancy, a little syncopation, again nothing fancy. Argh. And he HAS to have the lead line, because he'd get more lost on anything else.
Truck's almost full, so I ought to go. Got just enough time left this morning to use this tank, refill it, and head off to meetings this afternoon. Happy happy. I get to argue with contractors this afternoon about warranty work. *wince*
