I am overbooked today
Sep. 16th, 2004 07:00 amWork, a command appearance at the board meeting after work, rehearsal. Blech.
The landscaping project went well yesterday. Only took an hour, plus an hour to hose the mud off the sidewalks. Had 13 volunteers from the office workers in the Student Cetner, and they all worked well.
Spent most of the rest of the day running around dealing with contractor issues about the parking garage. Not the best use of my time, I'm sure, but I can't tell Maintenance Director that I have other priorities.
All of the grounds staff have been asked to appear at the board meeting for an atta-boy tonight. Joy oh joy. We were also told to clean up and have clean uniforms. Heaven forbid we look like we've ben working all day when we go to the meeting.
Talked to Sis last night. She'd taken Baby in to the doctor yesterday for another hearing test, which he passed this time. Her doc thinks Baby just had fluid in his ears after birth, and that's why he failed the hearing tests before Sis brought him home from the hospital. She's taking Baby in to another doctor tomorrow, to get the heart murmur looked at. Hopefully that goes as well. And sometime next week, she's got an appointment with an early ed specialist. Apparently, they're evaluating very young infants after traumatic births, to check for possible nervous system damage, with the idea that they can catchand correct problems as soon as possible. Sis is all for this, Harry is freaked by the idea that his son might be defective. Her regular doc didn't think there'd be anything to worry about with Baby, but they're doing the evaluation just to be sure.
Didn't get any knitting done last night. Curled up in my chair with Knitting the Old Way by Priscilla Gibson-Roberts. Knitters, if you haven't read this, do it. She details the proportions in a sweater, for sleeves and necklines and armhole shapings, for 15 different styles of sweater. Very very cool. Very very educational. Too bad I fell asleep in my book early on in the evening. By was laughing at me when he woke me up and sent me to bed.
