Guess I won't be watering trees today, we've had an ich of rain already this morning, and it's still coming down hard.

Got to bed early last night(9-ish), and the world is a brighter place today. OR it would be, if it wasn't raining. Did get a little knitting done, one full pattern repeat on the Orenburg-style scarf (so about 2.5"). It's 24" long, as of last night, so I'm 1/3 of the way done. Yay! And I managed to crawl over the pile in the sewing room last week, enough to get the other skein of orange alpaca out, so I can do my second sock. Probably will start that soon. Not going to do anything else this morning.

Correct previous entry to read "not going to do anything else today". It stopped raining around 9:30, by which time we'd had just over an inch of rain. SO...most of what I'd (briefly) considered working on today, besides watering trees, is out because the ground's too wet. I told the boss I was going to putter in the shop the rest of the day. He apparently didn't realize that meant "listen to public radio and knit socks". He was here about half an hour ago, seeming a little lost. The new boss still isn't used to the pace of a government job on a slow day. He'll learn.

The Sock Report: Started the second orange alpaca sock, and am one and a half pattern repeats into the texture pattern, or halfway through the leg. Not bad.

I'm running up to the Pearl after work, to see Peggy's show before it gets taken down. Probably going to take flowers, since I pulled a big pile of roses and other stuff out of the greenhouse trash today. Not sure how long they'll last, but once the ick and dead petals were pulled off, they're quite pretty. Amazing what people will throw away.
