How do I know By loves me? Well, lots of things, but today, it's the fact that he's willing to drive to my work to bring me a change of clothes, so I don't have to put my oh-so-muddy self into the car. Awwwww.

Spent the morning gathering rock in the construction areas--some for walkways in the greenhouse gardens, some larger things for a drainage area I'm rocking as erosion control, and a few pieces for me (which By has kindly agreed to drive home for me). The boss is a little muddy, too, because he got drafted to help me lift the bigger pieces into the truck. One chunk, we almost didn't get into the truck--we just couldn't lift it high enough to get it onto the tailgate. We ended up pulling some pallets over, rolling the rock up onto the pallets, and lifting from there. Whew. Once we had it all in the truck, I wasn't thinking, and sent the boss on his merry way, without arranging for help getting said rock out of truck and into position. Oops. I'm sure at least some of the college's neighbors are wondering why there was a small muddy person kicking rocks out of a truck and into a drainage ditch in the back corner of campus this morning. The small muddy person was just too tired to lift them any more. Kicking them worked. And it kept my toes out of the drop zone.

OOoo, Byron's here. Later.

Still tired, muddier than before--any day I get this dirty at work, I've definitely worked too hard. By delivered clean clothes, and took away a small pile of rocks, plus the two iron and wood benches he spotted in the dumpster. One had a broken slat on the seat, and the wood on both needs oiling badly, but otherwise, they're fine.

So, I get pretty rocks for my garden, AND a pair of benches to put...somewhere. One, at least, under the plum tree in back (when I get the thing pruned). I've been wanting for a while to do a little seating area with a bench and fragrant plants to enjoy while reading quietly in the shade. Have to think about the second one. The front yard gets too much road dust for a bench to be pleasant to use out there, and I'd prefer it was someplace shady and restful. It may wait until I get a picnic spot carved under one of the trees in the back hedgerow...which is an "I'd like to do this someday" project.

And now, I'm quite tired, and have no intention of working anymore. The boss, last I saw, was in his office playing on the computer, as is my coworker and the shop grunt. Might as well join them.
