The UnSock Report
Jul. 3rd, 2004 06:14 amThe UnSock Report: Didn't work on By's sock yesterday at work, despite all the down time for rain, I was just too muddy. Spent some quality time with the shawl at home, though--got 6 rows done on the body of the shawl. Unstretched, that's about 1/2" of width. Yes, it will stretch to more than that, and yes, I've got lots left to do. Still, 6 rows, on nearly 300 TINY stitches isn't bad. It's not enough to really see the pattern, though, except that I can tell the bobbles won't be as visible on this one, unless they pop out once I get it blocked. Right now, they're just a slightly denser spot in the pattern. And doing the heavier-yarn version first was SUCH a good idea...I dread the thought of trying to understand this pattern, first time through, in this gauge.
