Been a busy couple of days. Went to help Donna in the greenhouse yesterday, came home, started cleaning up floewr beds while By worked on getting the mowers running for the season.

Today, I got 2 more of the flower beds in the front yard cleaned up, picked up trash in the yard, while By drove the big mower around and vacuumed up the clippings. He had the bright idea to dump the grass/leaves thus produced aroudnthe garden fence, to keep the weeds down. And for those who keep track of such things, By decided to play hooky from work and take advantage of the weather to get stuff done.

My after-lunch project is to finish the stacked-cinder block wall I'm making, and fill in that re-done portion of flower bed. It's one of the first beds I made on this property, and has never quite been what I wanted. It has a bit of a slope, witha flat spot at the bottom where my plants tend to fry in the summer and drown in the spring rains. Hence, the new retaining wall. I dug out the things I wanted to save--2 mini roses, some random iris, yarrow seedlings, and a pile of daffodils--and they're waiting in the wheelbarrow for me to get soil back in the bed and replant them.

The sock report: I finished the knitting part of the alpaca socks Sunday night. Still need to weave in ends, but that can wait for some evening this week when I have a short attention span. Got the first of Robyn's socks ripped back to the heel, so I can re-knit the part that was too tight. (That's what happens when I try to knit while I'm PMSing and crampy.)
