Who dialed us ahead to February?
Dec. 6th, 2005 07:51 amIt's f***-all cold this morning. Cold enough that I dug out the bottoms to my silk longjohns, so I wouldn't freeze in the greenhouse today. It snowed the whole way to work, nothing serious, just that dry, powdery, it's-so-cold-it's-got-to-snow kind of stuff.
Went to see Goblet of Fire with By and Cammie yesterday afternoon. Vastly enjoyed the movie. Draco the amazing bouncing ferret--just the way I envisioned that scene in the book. Took some yarn and a hook with me, got 6 squares done during the movie. (And no, I can't remember what my count is. I've lost track, so I'll have to hand-count them sometime this week.)
Sounds like work was all kinds of interesting last week. Brian (the work-study guy) missed a good chunk of the week, also for a funeral. He said he'd heaard that Donna had more time to supervise DG last week, and that things did not go well for DG. He also said he'd gotten on DG's case the days he was here, because she was supposed to be watering, and had missed bunches of things. Not unusual--the woman just can't learn. Here's hoping she's gone soon. I'm tired of dealing with it.
I'm crossing my fingers and hoping the forecast holds for this coming Friday. I've got to give a tour of the tree trail that afternoon, to the Wyandotte county extension agent and someone she's working with. Since I'm no longer on grounds, it's got to be a walking tour. Gak. 32 degrees I could deal with. If it's still in the teens, I'm calling Lynne and arranging a different time for the tour.
That's about it. Not a very exciting weekend, since I spent most of it hiding after the trip. Gotta call Mom tonight, because I forgot to call her and let her know we were home safely.

Date: 2005-12-06 06:41 pm (UTC)I was complaining about it not being cold enough for December, so the cold decided to come and visit. In order for the cold to come viist, it had to go through you. ;-) It was 19 here this morning, but has warmed nicely.

It's supposed to get UP TO 14 degrees tomorrow. Maybe. With a wind chill of 1 degree OR BELOW all damn day. And snow. 2-4" of the white stuff by Thurs, some of the forecasters are saying.
If I could figure out how to get it there, I'd send it ALL south to you.

Date: 2005-12-06 08:11 pm (UTC)Or get a couple of sets of battery powered socks, cannibalize them for the heating stuff, and knit some stockings around them. You could do the same with opera length gloves too.
