We got that much last night. Life is good, at least for a few hours :)
We made it through the first night of the show without any major crises. Sales were okay for the crowd we had, although attendance is really down. (And is expected to be again tonight...there's a big art auction tonight, so By's expecting to lose customers to that.) Had one drunk guy come upstairs, looking for the naked girls, because there were naked girls last year. **shakes head** Many thanks to Cammie and John, who brought us warm caffinated beverages and chocolate during the show. We didn't stay for dinner after the show, because it was 10pm before people started heading up there, and I was just too tired to deal with that and then drive home too. So, home around 11, a quick bowl of soup, and bed.
It was a long day. Even before I got to the show, it'd been a long day. DG didn't speak to me most of the day, because I told Donna she'd been late to work again. (Turns out she'd gotten in about 10 minutes earlier than I thought, she'd just been in the headhouse eating her breakfast. Which, to me, means she's not at work and ready to work. So, she's still late.) Punctuality and attandance is going to be the thing that gets her fired, I think. She's close now. Donna told Dr G that DG was "still tolerable", that she'd been fairly good for a while, but was backsliding lately. DG spends about half her time at work making/taking phone calls and hiding in the clean room with her coffee. Donna's soft on people, and won't do anything around the holidays. Grrrrr.
I spent my work day spraying stuff all over the greenhouse; the show and the holidays next week are screwing up my spraying schedule, but it's got to get done, and early is better than late.
Oh well. It is still a FAR better place to work than where I was. And it probably wouldn't be notable, except that I've been tired and stressed and overbooked for a while.
We don't have to be in until 11am today. By's got stuff to do, and since Robyn's got the metals intern and the office girl, I expect to sit in a corner and do string. I've got stuff to do squares packed, as well as the lily of the valley shawl (which I worked on last night).
Suppose I ought to go get ready now. Take it easy, folks.
