1 c warm water (95-105 degrees)
1 1/4 c warm water or milk
1 T yeast
3 T sugar
1 T salt
3 T shortening (melted), veggie oil, or butter (melted)
6 - 6 1/2 c of flour
Dissolve yeast and sugar in 1 c warm water, let sit 10 minutes.
Add rest of liquid, salt, and 2 c of flour.
Stir until well mixed.
Continue adding flour, 1/2 c at a time, until dough clears sides of bowl.
Knead until smooth, round up dough, place back in bowl, and cover with a towel.
Let rise 30-45 minutes, until doubled.
Punch down, let rest for 15 minutes, then shape as desired, place in greased pans, and let rise until doubled again.
Bake at 425 for 20 minutes, or until done.

Jan. 4th, 2006 04:39 pmSo I'm goofing off, just a bit. Found this maze generator, more the type of mazes you'd find in coloring books as a kid, but still cool. And that got me to looking around a bit, and I found My Mazes, which also has free mazes and puzzles. More mazes to solve, both paper-and-pencil type and first-person game type, can be found at Think Labyrinth.

Nearly forgot to share
Jan. 4th, 2006 06:36 pm...there's gossip from the maint department. Courtney was telling me this afternoon that New Boss let The Other Horticulturist talk him into posting my former position in a national trade mag, and that so far, the only app that's come in and looked good was from a guy in Arizona. I'm told New Boss is all twitterpated, doesn't know how to interview someone long distance.
