I think it's just the heat the past few weeks, and getting off my normal sleep schedule every weekend since Heartland. My own durn fault, I know. And I'm not complaining, much. I did get to bed (to sleep) fairly early last night, and slept very well. Didn't even hear By leave for work.

Woke up with the phone yesterday--Mom called, around 9:30, to wish By a happy birthday. Tact kicked in despite my uncaffinated state, so we had a nice chat, and Mom was told merely that By was up late the night before working on projects, and was still asleep. Mom as not told that there was company in the shower, as that would have been hard to explain. (By the way, Mr. Company, thanks for behaving while I was on the phone with Mom. I was having enough trouble as it was :) ) By's folks and brother made their birthday calls in the afternoon. I got stuck talking to By's mom, but that's not so bad, because we can talk string for hours.

In between the phone calls, we ran to Lawrence to buy me a pair of #2 16" circs, which ended up being two stops, because Yarn Barn only had one. Had to go down the street to Get Crafty for the other. (For the curious, it's not a bad store, but I don't see how they justify their yarn section with Yarn Barn's full shelves half a block away.) Then to KC, to Costco for a few things, and to price the stuff for our camp meal plan at Tara. That didn't take long, so we toddled off to Bed Bath and Beyond for a couple of things (it's a surprise, I'll tell you later), then to Borders for magazines. And then, finally, to the Charlesworth's, where we were slept at by a smallish baby and big dogs.

I need to puch away from the computer and go water some stuff. We didn't get that much rain yesterday, and I doubt I'll be in the mood to do it when I get back tonight. Need to finish washing and folding laundry, too. And total up prices for the Tara meal plan, because I told people I'd ge thtat out to them soonish.

Go find yourself a copy of the current INknitters (Summer '05). There's a wonderful article on silk and raising silkworms by [livejournal.com profile] oakenking, complete with the wonderful photo tutorial he's become famous for.

Good job, man!

On the way home from the HSA meeting on Sunday, I noticed that that house had finally sold. It's been for sale for most of a year, I think, maybe longer...noticing the sign gone, and different cars in the drive, and the name removed from the rock by the driveway, it's like releasing a breath I held for too long.

I haven't checked lately to see if He still lives in the area (the house belonged to his parents), but somehow I feel safer now.
