Jul. 12th, 2005 10:15 amAnother richly filled weekend (for any of the various interpretations of "filled"). Got to spend quality time with both of the boys, got snuggled lots, got laid lots. It's good to be me :)
Made it through my first HSA meeting as part of The Powers That Be. Am considering suggesting to the BOD that the meeting where we hold committee chair elections may not be the best place for that changeover. I think it might help with some of the confusion. By got the merchants chair for the upcoming year, which ought to be all kinds of interesting. The former head looked very pissed about that, and he's a little worried about what kind of cooperation he's going to get, when it comes time to transfer the information and records.
Speaking of confusion, I was told I confused (or at least surprised) a few people at the meeting, because I showed up looking "girly." Girly = red cotton dress, black sandals, jewelry, hair and nails done, lipstick. Or, at least started with lipstick, until someone kissed it off. As it happened, I'd dressed for T's enjoyment, but I admit I like twitting the people who are used to seeing me presented a bit more butch.
By's got today and tomorrow off, because Robyn's out of town. He's off this morning to get corrugated metal roofing from one of Albert's jobs, because it's in fantastic condition, and will be just the thing for the roof on my herb shed. He's got a bunch of errands tomorrow, starting with meeting someone about getting a kilt done, and talking to another lady about HSA stuff, and he's also stopping to pick up a pitchfork for the highland games crew, who want him to do a fancy leather braid over the handle they're talking a braided plaid).
Did some running around yesterday. First to Bonner, to Donna's house, to get a new-to-us loveseat. They'd thrown the matching sofa away, because their pets chewed it up, and just recently got replacements, and this one didn't match. Screw matching--it's nicer than anything else in my living room. And did I mention it reclines? Ooooooo. We moved Frank's chair out to the deeck, with the intent of making a run to the dumpster at school one Sat morning. We still need to rearrange the living room some, but we hadn't expected to get free furniture, and lack a plan for where things need to migrate to.
Went to **three** craft stores last night, looking for two things: PVA glue (or something similar and archival), and drawing nibs for my dip pen. Apparently, people don't do calligraphy the hard way anymore, they use the markers instead. Slackers. Also came home with a couple of rubber stamps, to doll up the pages on a book I finished binding last night. I'll probably be working on that this afternoon, in between loads of laundry.
