Finally the end of the week
Feb. 5th, 2005 09:56 amDidn't make it to bed as early as I'd intended last night...stayed up working on temari, and talking to By after he got home from First Friday.
Temari count: 18 finished, one in progress, 10 wrapped and ready, and 8 with yarn-wrap only. I plan to finish the "in progress" one this evening, then spend some quality time making bases to stitch on in the car tomorrow.
Yesterday was glorious....sunny, nearly 60 degrees, just a touch of chill in the air to remind you this was a day spring stole from winter. It's supposed to be as nice today, but it's not there yet. I'm waiting for Donna to get in, so we can plant some shrubs I rescued from the construction on the east side of campus. I plan to take at least one home, so add that to my agenda tonight. Probably install the fothergilla in the front yard, where it's a little more protected and the soil moisture is more consistent.
By's off salvaging this morning...uni-strut and nice ceiling fans and bricks (I think) from that bar Terry's doing a demo-job on. Terry's trying to save money on this one, so all of a sudden he's all about By coming in to pull out all the materials he can use--free labor, and Terry doesn't have to pay to have it hauled off and dumped. He's plananing to go to classes with KCLU this afternoon, and Robyn asked him to walk Crypto sometime this afternoon. The dog came through his knee surgery just fine, although they had to replace two ligaments instead of one. By says he's still limping, but he can make it up and down the stairs. The vet told Robyn to expect to have to the the same to Crypto's other hind leg, guess it's a large dog thing. He's only 5, but dogs over 100 pounds wear out faster than smaller breeds.
