Ooops! Snow!
Nov. 24th, 2004 08:03 amThat wasn't on the plans for today. What happened to the "precipitation amounts of less than 1 inch possible"? Hmm? I thought so.
There appears to be 6" of snow on my deck, and it's still snowing lightly. I haven't been out to take a close look, and By was too busy making a path to the car (and excavating said car) to measure the snow. Robyn called just before By left the house, and told him to stay home today, because the roads in the city are that bad. (He's taking a nap now, still dressed, on the bed, with three cats half draped over him.)
dracokc, you got out of town just in time.
So, we had planned to load the car as soon as By got home from work today, and head west. KDOT says the turnpike is wet and slushy to Salina, and Hwy 81 is also slushy. Looks like we'll wait until noon, see what the roads look like.
Sometime today I need to (a) find my rosemary plants, and (b) move them into the greenhouse, and (c) get the heater turned on in there. They ought to handle the snow okay, it's only 30 degrees, that's not fatal to rosemarys, but it's supposed to get down to 19 degrees tonight, and that's a bit much.
I also need to unload and restack the dishwasher today, and clean litterboxes, and some other responsible adult things so I've a reasonably clean house to come home to.
