Am I becoming the mad knitter?
Jul. 19th, 2003 06:34 amI can hear some of you cackling as I type. I know what you guys think. But it was just too hot to garden this week.
Finished the first of the aran socks yesterday afternoon (during water tank #5). Well, I haven't got the toe grafted together yet; I didn't have the attention span for that last night. Also got another inch or so done on the spiral rib sock while I was watering. Woo-hoo.
Got very little knitting at home. I did get as far the cuff for the second sleeve on the grey sweater, but I didn't have the attention span to start on the colorwork just above the cuffs. Tried swatching for the Tied-Up Tee, but I don't have the needle sizes recommended. I got the sts per inch, but no the rows per inch. Very strange. Maybe I can talk By into a VERY SHORT run through Yarn Barn on the way to Topeka tomorrow.
Since that didn't work, I got some of the stash yarn out and tried swatching for a pattern in one of my magazines--a rather nice camisole by the same designer as the Tied-Up Tee. That seemed to go better, but I really shouldn't be starting another long-term project like that. Yet.
The problem with knitting socks is that you finish the first one, and get this wonder sense of accomplishment, and then you have to start all over again, from the very beginning.
