According to the lead groundskeeper, J, this morning, I hate M, the part-time gal who started back in May. This is news to me, and to M. *shakes head* It seems my nemesis D (the other horticulturist here) has been running around most of the summer telling people I don't like M and don't want to work with her. So busy doing that, in fact, he's been too busy to do his job, so M says. D is scheduled for a meeting with the bosses sometime today; I think M's been in at least once this week telling her side. Poor thing. She's a damn good worker, and pretty much the only thing that's kept D from being in even more trouble, because she's picked up the slack for him since she started. And she finally gave up this week, and told him to start doing things himself.

I really hope she doesn't leave because of this; I know she's left similar situations, where she's felt it better to find other part-time work than stay and deal with the hassle. I talked with her a bit this morning, and let her know that exactly what I think of her: about a week after she started, I told T, my bos, that M was one of the best people he'd hired since I've been here, and I really enjoy working with her. I hope the pep talk helps. I hope that maybe, the bosses will finally do something effective with D. Termination is my vote, but as developed as campus is getting, we're running out of places to hide the body.

Now that I'm done ranting......

Not a productive weekend. Well, I guess that depends on how you define productive. By had a great haul of lumber from dumpster diving Saturday....completely filled the truck. Sunday, we & [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat went to Meg's graduation from cosmetology school......it was good to see Meg & Andrew; the ceremony itself was painful to witness. Good thing I took my knitting in.

After the ceremony, we went to Lawrence to Jade for dinner, and watched Andrew discover the joys of crab legs. He kept us busy, once he discovered there was something edible in there, trying to fish the meat out for him. We went to the park and let him run dinner off, while we sat and digested and chatted. Good way to spend an evening.

Got a fair amount of knitting done. On the grey sweater, I got about 9" of the second sleeve done. Finished swatching for the tied-up tee, and now have about 6" done on the front and back (worked in one piece). Turns out I was short two skeins of yarn in that kit; the seller is supposed to be sending those out. Did the finishing details on the spiral rib socks and the first aran sandal sock on the way to Topeka. The second aran sandal sock is about 1 1/2" past the cuff. I guess that's progress.
