Too bad I'm not more motivated today. There's plenty to do here, and spring break started today, so there aren't many people to work around. Got straw bales to put out for erosion, more chemicals to put down (granular apps only, too windy to spray today), things to prune.......all I can think is "I'd rather be home". Dunno what I'd do there, just don't want to be at work. Ah, gotta remember to ask the boss about borrowing the long-handled hedge shears this weekend. Those ought to be just the thing to clean up the oregano and lemon balm for this season.
Monday, I'm going to start going in to the greenhouse to play with Donna & help her get ready for the plant sale. She wants to make it large, showy sale, but the guy from KSU is driving her nuts...everybody in the SCI dept administration here thinks he could break the hort program, so they won't tell him no, even when he fills up the greenhouse with stuff that's got nothing to do with JCCC. (For example, 4000 unrooted geranium and impatiens cuttings, despite the fact that the mist system isn't up, and she doesn't have the time or manpower to pot up that much in an afternoon.) And Donna bears the brunt of it, the extra hassles, the extra hours without pay, because her boss is a spineless wimp (IMHO) and won't tell anyone (except "underlings" like Donna) no. Life in a bureaucracy, ain't it grand?
Talked to S for a little bit yesterday afternoon. He sounded resigned to an eventual separation. He said that R's emotional storm had run its course by last Sat morning, and things were back to "normal". But, nothing was resolved, and he's making an inventory of what he went into that house with, so he knows what to take with him next time this flares up.
Talked with my sister a little online yesterday, too. She's enjoying the new job, says it's much less stressful. Still no word on when/if Harry's getting shipped out, but given the news reports, she expects it fairly soon.
