Swtiching projects in midstream
Jan. 27th, 2003 10:24 amDoing the temari for my exchange partner on talktemari has kicked me out of my knitting focus and back to temari, for a while, anyway. Seven finished this weekend. The one I'm currently working on is 3" diam (used to be a sock), with a warm amber-orange base and stitching in lavender and purples--which works much better than it sounds. Honest.
I've got to dig through my stash today, and see if I can find a purple that matches what I was using on the ball I started before Xmas, that's half done. I'd put it down because it was getting tedious, and I had knitting to do. I really hope I haven't used all the purple thread I'd bought for it on something else.
Back in November, I'd mentioned that there was a display of my temari in the lobby of the Hort Center at JCCC. Well, if anyone wants to go see it, it's still up; Donna hasn't come up with something else for those cabinets yet. I'll probably take the books out this week, I'm beginning to need those, but the rest will stay up for a while.
The first week of work with the new boss was uneventful, probably because he has the sense to butt out and leave us alone during the snow cleanup. We did learn one of his pet peeves the first day--crooked signs. Those will have to wait until the ground is softer, though. He does seem a little more consistently detail-oriented. His predacessor would notice things, and be really picky about it, and walk by the same offense a month later and not say a word. We never knew how he'd react about things.
