treeskinI'm into the heel on the aran sock I started Wed night. It looks very nice, if I do say so myself. Heel flap is a bit of a bitch, though...I'm carrying the pattern onto the heel, and the central cable has at leas at one cross Every Row, which means that on the heel I'm doing some crosses from the back. What was I thinking?
It was too cool in the office last night, so I played with variations on the cable panel I'm using in the aran socks. One panel turned out 28 sts wide, a woven diamond with 2-st cable ropes going from one diamond to the next...think I'll have to do that one. I started, but did not finish, another panel with a woven diamond lattice framing an open space. I've got it in my head to do another nice pair of Byron socks, and socks for his long legs would show off either of these cables very nicely.
