It's not the weekend yet.

I got home from rehearsal at 9:30 tonight. Whew. We ran through the whole program (both programs, actually) for the next two nights. With a few stops along the way, becuase our fearless leader is an old lady who's just not that organized. I chickened out, so we're not doing Washington Post March on Saturday...I can play the silly thing all day long (and have) at home, but it's hard to hear what's going where with the ensemble, and I always miss the important entrance, and on sopranino, that really shows. So, no squeaky march. Still doing Semper Fidelis...one Sousa piece is plenty. Sorry, Cat, we're still doing two Gilbert & Sullivan pieces ("I'm A Little Buttercup" and "Monarch Of The Sea"). They're not too bad. I'm brain-tired enough that I have mixed bits of Monarch and Chattanooga Choo Choo running in my head, which is weird.

Pretty much wrote off work today. It rained until 8:30, but things were really wet, so Courtney and I spent the rest of the morning walking on the tree trail and planning our next projects. Did get a few foliar fertilizer apps done, not as much as I wanted too, but the rain started again after lunch, and it rained just enough all afternoon to squash any activity I might have motivated myself for. Tomorrow will be equally hard, because we've 2.5" of rain at work in two days, and have standing water everywhere, and I'll be trying to stay halfway clean for the performance tomorrow night.

The Sock Report: the croc sox are no more. I started turning the heel during lunch today, realized I just didn't like the patterning, and ripped the whole thing out. Again. Think I'll just put this yarn away for a while. I'll pull some different yarn, maybe something solid, and a nice textured pattern to be the "in purse" project.
