Stayed up too late IM'ing [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat last night; I really didn't want to get up this morning. It's colder today (but less windy, thankfully), and my back & arms hurt from running the tiller yesterday. Good news is the bedwe're dong today is small enough the tiller is overkill; we'll just fluff it with pitchforks.

Did get some practicing in last night, not as much I had hoped. Hard to know what to focus on, since Betty hasn't said what we're playing on Sat, and I didn't have the energy to practice everything in both books.

Did very little knitting last night, but did finish the body on the fair-isle sheep and start the head shaping at work yesterday.

By mostly finished one signal whip last night, so he's pleased. And Robyn came up with an idea for another collaboration piece between them, so he'll be hard at work on that all weekend.

Sorry...

For some reason, the idea of fluffing something with pitchforks seems oddly...oxymoronic.

"The dessert is almost done--hang on while I quickly fluff it with a pitchfork!" or maybe, "These freshly-laundered clothes will be warm and soft--just wait while I fluff them with a pitchfork."

...pitchforks aren't only for sticking in the butts of the unfaithful or for horror movies with Amish people! One does, after all, fluff hay so that one can roll in it.

I grew up on a farm, you know. I have used many a pitchfork...but for their intended purpose, which is forking hay into stalls. Have you ever actually rolled in hay? Itchy, itchy, itchy.

Didn't know you lived on a farm. Cool. Did you have horses? I've always wanted horses, ever since reading Marguerite Henry's books in elementary school. Kinda expensive to maintain, though,(the horses) so I content myself with a ride every now and then. I have never used pitchforks regularly, but I have mucked out stalls. If the hay is fresh, I love to roll in it. I even have a slight allergy, and like to anyway. Mostly, though, it was an attempt at humor using the slang "roll in the hay" as a cliche metaphor for sex. I seem to have failed miserably. Ah, well.

Hope to see you again some time.
