Isn't it a shame to be back at work?

treeskinSeems a shame to waste my mellow mood on my coworkers. I got laid 4 times this weekend, and the world is a happier place now!
Between having company (and *having* some of the company *grin*) and the cold I caught last week, I haven't gotten much done. A few temari, a little laundry done. Must finish the laundry--we're still trying to catch up from camping on Labor Day! Anyway.
Our company arrived Sat evening--some people we met at Heartland this spring, and have hit it off with since. Sweet people, fun to talk to. We stayed up way past my bedtime (like, past midnight) talking & hanging out. Chuck & I stayed up later than that, much to everyone's amusement the next morning. Evil man--he found out that I'm ticklish, and that I squeek. He's ticklish, but doesn't make any fun noises. *sigh* But he's fun in other ways. (Can we say speed bumps boys & girls? I knew you could).
Renfest was okay. Most of the fun was being there with Ashe, who'd never been before, and in having Andrew along. Andrew is a precocious 2. Never really paid attention to the elephant rides and petting zoo before. I'm not sure about the inclusion of the gladiators and fantasy-oriented characters in the performances. Fest seems to be less about the renaissance and more about getting money from the marks now. By & I had 3 people come up to us with hair envy Sunday--always fun. That's half the fun of going for us now--leave our hair loose and see how many of the rennies we can make jealous!
We also made it to the Plaza Art Show on Sunday. By had to walk the show and check out the prices Robyn's competitors are charging (her accountant sasy she needs to raise hers). Some very nice stuff there this year--lots of people doing truly amazing things in glass. All way out of our price range, too. Haven't heard how the show went for Robyn yet.
I'm hoping today will be uneventful. I've got 2 meetings with contractors this morning, to discuss completion and warranty issues on a couple of landscape projects. Got to find something to do (or somewhere to hide) for the rest of the day--I'm still tired from the weekend.
More company this week--Brenda, an old friend, will be flying in tonight. We haven' t seen her for about a year (maybe longer, I can't remember, it's still early). She'll be staying with us until Sunday . I really hope this is a slow week at work, because I've got too many fun things to spend my energy on at home.
Oh, well. Back to work.
