Nemesis: The Chapter of Illumination
Jul. 30th, 2003 05:34 pmScene 7: Takes place in Cheese's office, later in the same day as Scene 6.
Synopsis: Cheese and Yours Truly are discussing The Poobah Of Cheese's comments from earlier that morning. Cheese assures Yours Truly that The Poobah Of Cheese (hereafter known as TPOC) does mean what he said about Baseball Coach needing to find other employment should another incident occur, but that TPOC's motivations are less than noble. Big Surprise. It seems that TPOC's son attended Community College, and made the baseball team, and was bench warmer, despite what TPOC said to Baseball Coach. TPOC has been looking for an excuse to nail Baseball Coach for years--and Baseball Coach's behavior has given TPOC plenty of ammunition when the time comes.
Scene 7 1/2: Also in Cheese's office, following a whirlwind visit by Super Cheese, who had stopped by on his way to the snack machines.
Synopsis: Super Cheese was much offended by the emailled complaint from Science Guy last week. It seems that Super Cheese had talked with Nemesis about these very areas of campus needing work back in March, and Super Cheese believes in only needing to give directions once. If the instructions aren't followed, you better have a darn good reason why not, or start reaching for your ankles. Anyway.....Super Cheese expressed his displeasure at needing to give the instructions again, asked for and received assurance from Cheese that the issues in the complaint were being dealt with in a timely fashion this time, and asked for a report from Yours Truly on the state of the tree trail.
After Super Cheese left, Cheese told Yours Truly that he and Bigger Cheese had both had long talks with Nemesis about following through with projects, and communicating with coworkers, the usual. And Cheese reassured Yours Truly that Cheese had spoken to Bigger Cheese about the division of labor on campus--Yours Truly does outer campus, Nemesis does inner campus--and how the only way to really "do something" about Nemesis is to let the whole department get burned a couple of times, until the Powers That Be realize that the complaints are consistently about Nemesis and his area of focus.
No one in Yours Truly's hierarchy has yet defined the term "do something" as it relates to Nemesis, and all of Yours Truly's suggestions have been turned down,
