Question for my techie friends

I think I need to get a thumb drive for moving data between my work and home computers, and from my decktop to the computer in the classroom. Taking stuff home, or between buildings, on cd's is starting to get silly.

I would welcome recommendations of type/brand/etc.

A got a new one recently with a retractable plug, so there isn't a cap to lose.
