I knew calling my sister was a bad idea
Feb. 21st, 2006 10:43 pmSis's therapist has prescribed a divorce, and is going to file paperwork so Sis can get an emergency divorce, within the next 30 days. She's hoping to have everything signed before Harry leaves the country.
Sis has a new guy, who's been pretty good for her so far. I'm withholding comments so far. She at least sounds healthier, mentally, than she has in years, so that's something. I may get to meet him this comign Saturday.
She's told Harry about the new guy, and that she's filing. Yesterday. So, he spent today calling her to yell every five minutes. Surprised that the army let him do that. He says (so far) that he won't contest it. **crosses fingers**
She will have to pay for Harry's attorney, but she figures the price is worth it.
Even our male parental unit (she's still in contact) says this is a good idea. That's saying something, dude.
The little one has to have ear surgery (again). (This is rather like what we went through with Sis, at that age.)
The good news is, since H left for his army training, she's not needed all the medications she's been on. Except for today, while he called all day. But still, a good thing.
Cross your fingers and think good thoughts for her, folks.

Date: 2006-02-22 02:50 pm (UTC)Pleasepleaseplease urge her not to marry this new guy when she has the big "I'm a scarlet woman" backlash. Please.
Thinking good, if slightly exasperated, thoughts for her.

Date: 2006-02-22 03:11 pm (UTC)She hasn't mentioned marriage yet. **crossing fingers** She is talking about moving in with him, more or less when the paperwork's done.
So far, what she's told me about him is that he's good to her (which may be years of unfulfilled hormones and neglect talking), and she can have a conversation with him (which is, I've got to grant, an improvement). I'll let you know more after I've met him on Saturday.
Oh, and Mom's started getting on her case about not going to church, and not getting the boys involved in church while they're young and it's easy to make it a habit. I guess she started in on it last weekend, while Mom was visiting for the little one's birthday, and Sis played up that she was getting sick, and set Mom home.
