This will make your brownies very moist, so you may want to bake them longer or at a higher heat than you otherwise would; I baked them at 400F for 20 minutes and they came out beautifully. We put out a saucer of 151 for dipping, and hoo boy. Never again will you need to ask where the rum has gone!
Super duper blindingly orange brownies. To your regular recipe, add one teaspoon of orange extract and one extra teaspoon of vanilla extract. This is a lot. If it's too orange for you, only use a half teaspoon of each. Also add the grated zest of half of an organic navel orange. (I insist on organic because I don't feel like grating pesticide spray into my brownies. You are of course welcome to do otherwise if you like.) Peel the other half and use pieces of peel to decorate the brownies. I repeat: blindingly orange. I like these a lot but some people seem to think they're too intense, or maybe they just wanted rum.
