No, we didn't blow away yesterday.
May. 5th, 2003 10:29 amBut thanks for asking.
I guess the storm made the news all over--we had 6 phone calls last night, (the furthest away being from Woody, in Mississippi), and By's mom called this morning and woke us up. Anyway, I don't know how much mess it made east of us, but we got a little rain, just enough hail to sound neat on the roof, wind, and some very impressive clouds.
Byron's home. And the world is suddenly a much better place. When I got home from work Sat afternoon, he'd left a message saying they'd gotten fed up, and packed up early. They got back in to the studio a little after midnight, and I went in and picked him up. Yesterday was not productive, but fun.
Got some shopping done--we bought a new tent, a modern one, for camping this season. The pavillion's nice, but it's heavy, awkward to put up, and lacks a very important feature: bug screens.
I got a lifetime's supply of #5 and #7 double-pointed needles at Cummins tools, for $8. I think they're supposed to be kitchen skewers of some kind....only sharpened on one end, the #5 diam is 4" long (sock needles!), the #7 diam is 6" long I think. So, a little work with a pencil sharpener, a little sandpaper, I have needles, or hairsticks, or whatever else I can think of.
