I'm tempted to play with this pattern and use up some of my more noxious colors of cheapo acrylic yarns.

I am so tempted by this. However, I would have to buy more yarn, instead of using up current stash (which is near nonexistant). But I'm keeping it in mind... There are little boys who need afghans for whom this woud be PERFECT. Also, it looks like a good purse project. I need more of those.

Yes, but this would be a grand project for CHEAP yarn.

(It's really too bad you can't get a mixed-color bag of 10 skeins of acrylic something from discountyarnsale.com. Although, come to think of it, they sell Caron Simply Soft in 3-skein bags, for about $11. That's do-able.)
