...and I get to be the one unlocking the door :) At 8am, no less. That late hour is a luxury.

I got to sleep in until 6am this morning, whereupon By smacked the alarm a few times, got up a bit later than he'd meant, and allowed me to alternate dozing and smacking the alarm until 7am. Wow. The world looks very different when you don't see the sun come up. I think I could get to like it.

I remembered to cart in my big box of Earl Grey tea from Costco (because all good things come from Costco :) ), a spare sweatshirt for later in the week, and a book I'd bought for Courtney a while back. Go me! Also remembered to tuck my new knitting project in my purse, as lunch-hour knitting.

By's parts orders showed up last night, both of them, so he's started working on a pearl and red-glass-sparklies tiara for one of the performers out at RenFest. Not fine art, certainly, but they're paying.

Actually went out to a theater and saw Serenity with Tristan and one of his coworkers. The movie was much fun, even if they did kill one of my favorite characters. **sigh** I had forgotten, though, how much I disliked the whole volume-too-loud, bombastic commercials and stuff before the show.

The Sock Report: Am halfway up the leg on one of T's kilt hose. Sadly, they wil NOT be done by this weekend. Just takes too much time to get with him and get him to try them on.

I've priced yarn for kilt hose for S and J (that's the socks I'm doing on trade for a new bodice), and hope to get that ordered soon.

The UnSock Report: Am making incremental progress on the Lily of the Valley shawl. It's about 7" deep now, which is further than any of the other attempts I've made on it to date. I've actually memorized the pattern this time, and that speeds this business up a lot.

Must remember to drag out the various baby projects and get those finished. Both of those ladies are due in about a month.

New Knitting! I succuumbed to the lure of a spiffy new pattern posted on elann.com--the Peacock Plumes hip-length vest (it's the second pattern pictured, scroll down a bit). I got the yarn last night, on my shopping trip with [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat....Brown Sheep's Naturespun, which is a 100% wool, sport weight, in sapphire (it's at the bottom of the color card). It's very nice. I've got the bottom garter st border done thus far. I think this is going to be my purse knitting for a while, just so I'll get more of the due-soon projects done at home.

Welcome to your new life in the greenhouse!

And there was much rejoicing! Yay! *little cluster of men wave flags at bottom of screen*

Indeed. Much rejoicing. Triple rejoicing, in fact, because I've already finished the tasks I knew I had to start the morning out with, and can spend a little time goofing off and finishing my Coke.
