...when you find yourself string geeking at knitting patterns in Finnish. There's another free online knitting mag, Ulla, which has nice looking patterns, and a rep for decent articles. I've got half a chance to decipher the patterns, becuase somewhere I've got a chart of knitting terms in other languages, which includes Finnish.

In case anyone's curious, this issue's patterns are here, and the archives of previous issues are here. (Scroll down, under the heading "Arkisto". I have no idea what the other headings on that page mean.)

Or, just in case...don't suppose anyone out there in my lj-land speaks both knitting and Finnish?

Appreciate the thought, but I've tried those before, not for Finnish patterns specificly, for other knitting patterns (Swedish, I think they were). Those programs don't handle the abbreviations well. Good for a laugh (especially with instructions like "make one" and "wrap next stitch"), not so good for making whatever it is in the picture.
