I kinda figured on that, when NPR was talking about gas futures being up by 40% as of last night.

By's got an engine-wise friend hunting for a reliable $500 car with better mileage than the truck, which hit 270K miles recently. It still gets better mileage than some new things (like all the bloody Hummers running around Johnson County), but that's not saying much.
