I'm thinking I need to make a new medicine bag. Used to wear one all the time, made for me by a once-upon-a-time friend and lover, which had had a protective focus. Stopped wearing it years ago, because I needed to separate myself from the maker, and because I felt it had done its work, and burned it in one of the Heartland fires last year.

So now...I need to figure out what sort of thing I need. Got some leather--buttery soft scraps of deerskin leftover from a glovemaking factory. That's the easy part. I want this to help ground and center me, act as a focus. I'm thinking, right now, about:
*herbs--lavender, white sage, thyme (for courage), echinacea (healing)
*amber (for energy)
*salt
*turquoise

I'd like to use seeds of some kind, but most of the things that come to mind are either too big (acorns) or not in season, or both.

Comments/suggestions welcome.

Mustard seed is great for grounding, growth and long term focus.

Ah! Good suggestion. Thank you. And I think I have some at home (or could in a week or two, if I don't pull all the greens that are going to seed).
