The tasty-looking gingerish thing I refered to in the pitiful post looks like it might be Ctenanthe lubbersiana, probably cv "Golden Mosaic". (Pic here.)

Some of the sites I've been able to find on it say part to full shade, likes heat, and lots of water. And only hardy to about 40 degrees F. Oh, and I guessed wrong. Maranta family, not ginger.

(Is your listed email a reasonable way to contact you?)

Yup. Has been the past few months, anyway. Or drop questions here, if you're not shy.

I'm reasonably shy, but let's keep my personal life out of this! *g*

The grapevine says you might know a Judi, who sells woodwinds in Leavenworth. Due to details the grapevine was fuzzy on, (Isn't mold really bad for grapes?) I wanted to ask if you had any reason I might prefer not to patronize her.

Thanks.

Only woodwind seller I can think of in Leavenworth is a store called the Tune Shop, or somethign like that. There's a gal there who gives lessons on recorders and flute who's a member of the American Recorder Society, and I know she can get people she knows discounts on sheet music and *some* instruments, depending who you're buying from.

Can't think of any reason not to patronize her, just not inclined to play with that ensemble anymore, and that had very little to do with her. (You might not want to mention that last bit...)

And yes, mold is very bad for grapes. Copper sulfate fixes it, though.

If you're headed this way, you might also check out Mountain Music Shoppe in Lenexa, if only because the owner is such a hoot. And he can play almost everything, from tin whistles to bodhran to classical sitar.

Your plant fixation is one of the reasons we just can't get enough of you. If it weren't for the fact that I know you are a delightful tan brown color, I would wonder if your whole body was green!

Nice warping of the 23rd, there as well.

Yes, I'm sure the plight of the chlorophyll-obsessed is funny as heck to those not afflicted :) (Or those who don't have to pay my greenhouse tab...I'd be in all kinds of trouble if it weren't for Donna feeding my habit.)

And, in the wrong colors, I do have a green cast, more so in my winter pale stage. Clear white and certain shades of yellow, I do not wear.

Sounds like fun. :)

I appreciate the rest, though the mold comment was a humorous aside. Found the precise name involved - "Judi's Woodwind Repair", in case you were curious. For myself, I'll assume that any memory that isn't bright and brilliant isn't a good reason not to give her a chance.

Thanks!
