I wish I hadn't just taken the trash out. It's gorgeous out, and I can't go enjoy it because I've spent the day trying to clean all the disasters the kids have made today, and I'm just worn out
I don't have the energy to take them out and chase them out there too.

Today, The BoyChild has:
* pulled the electronics off their shelf (both speakers, router box, dvd player)
* dumped the full kitchen trash can
* pushed everything off the counter, more than once
* pushed everything off the top of the freezer
* dumped both diaper pails
* climbed my bookcase, found two boxes of my needlework tools, and scattered them all over the living room
* tore up three seed catalogs, and dropped others behind the counter where I can't get to them
* pulled my current knitting off the needles and undid a 4" wide section of a fiddly cable, which I get to try to repair

There's more, those are the most recent.

The Miss hs been mostly good, except tjat she colored on the cabinet fronts and countertop and kitchen table after lunch, so she's lost her crayon privileges for the day.

I'd *wanted* to spend some time cleaning, so the place looks more respectable when my relatives how up Thursday. Am hoping my sister's kids don't come--the last thing my rotten mood needs is an 11-yr-old boy (who won't pick up after himself) telling me my house is a mess.

By didn't get the tiller fixed on Sunday, and the rotten weather yesterday nixed any outside plans we had. So I've got piles of stuff that needs planted and nowhere to put it yet.

And while I'm being grumpy, what the hell's up with Laurell Hamilton? Besides being a golden goose for her publisher, I mean.....

By picked up one of her newer books, Flirt, at Walmart last night because it was *finally* out in paperback (and that's another rant). I read it today--it's over 200 pages, but only because whoever put the book together used slightly larger type and wider line spacing and margins. I'm *so* glad I didn't buy it in hardcover. I mean, hardcover prices for something I read in an hour? Um, no.

I supposed I ought to be glad this one had a plot, beyond "how many love interests are in each sex scene". And there wasn't out-and-out sex until 170 pages in. Maybe there's hope that Ms Hamilton will eventually go back to writing plots.
