We still haven't turned the furnace on. Even though the nights are getting into the 30's, sun on the house during the day is keeping it steady at 65. So yeah, the contractor business has been a comedy of errors, but it's totally worth it on the utility bill.

Salvage Guy was back bright and early, with his 15-yr-old son in tow. (The boy's out for 2 days for fall break, so no guilt there.) This is great, the kid's a better worker than any of the adults SG's brought out.

After going over the rest of Tuesday's work, SG is really pissed at that crew, and probably won't be brining any of them back. Which is another cheerful thought.

Must make more oatmeal, and more oatmeal bread today. There's less than a quarter of last night's loaf left.

Have spent the past two evenings working on an old, old project. I just figured out that open office has a feature that will finally let me compile and organize the monstrosity that started out as my herb notebook. I've tried and abandoned several formats over the past *mumble* years, and I'm thrilled to find something that could make it finally useable.

Salvage Guy and his boy already have half the messed-up stuff fixed. Yay!

In other news, I just cooked oatmeal, just so I can put it in bread. My family is so spoiled.

My children are pressed against the new living room window, blowing raspberries at the contractors.

There will be a slight delay on finishing the last of the siding on the west wall. Salvage Guy has gone as high as he's willing to with the ladders he's got here, with his son on the ladder. Fair enough. He's supposed to be bringing a taller ladder next trip. Meanwhile, they're moving around the corner, starting that siding and framing for that new window. Yay progress!

It's "try to keep the kids fed" day, and I missed the memo. Lunch was a bowl of peas each, bread toasted with cheese, banana each, and four handfuls of cheerios *each*. Plus a full sippy cup of milk each.

Good grief. I am already in fear for keeping up with their stomachs when they're teens.
