Yesterday, Salvage Guy and his kid fixed all of the problems his previous crew left, took off and re-did a buch of siding, and got all but the last 3 bits up high done on the west wall.

Today, they're on the south side. Installing a replacement window (yay!), then tyvek on the whole wall and siding up to the bottom of the window. Sunday, By's going to make a new window opening and put in a second window in that wall, then they'll finish the siding.

SG said he called his crew last night and told them how many things they'd screwed up, and that none ofthem believed him. At least one of his crew said they wouldn't come back here because I'm too critical. SG told that person that was fine, since we didn't want them back anyway.

In non-house news, I got a trial run of a new doll dress pattern sewn last night. Since it fits well, I can start cranking on clothes for the gift dolls.

Got parts for 4 dolls outside, drying after their first coat of spray sealer. The new front porch is very handy for that. Am hoping to do faces during naptime today, and assembly tonite. And then I need to draft another dress pattern, to fit the 3/4 size dolls.

The awful rash on my right hand is mostly healed now, that helps with getting the sewing done. Much easier to sew when you're not having to worry about bleeding all over your fabric.

By's dad is finally back home, after a 6-week trip that took him around the globe, with stops in 4 countries. Mom said he's very jetlagged.

We did break down and turn the heater on last night, but it's only set at 65. We made it nearly a month later than last year, which is pretty sweet, and there's still a bunch of windows to go and a full face of the house to insulate. Yay for a less drafty winter!

New window trimmed, tyvek up, and he's starting on the siding. Should get at least as far as the bottom of the windows today.

Lunch today was a bowl of steamed veggies each, a serving or rice each, a whole banana each, 3 helpings of cheerios for The Bug, and 4 helpings of cheerios for The Miss.

Honest, I do feed these kids more than once a day. You can't tell from watching them eat lunch lately, but I really do.
