Another 0.5" of rain overnight. Plus 0.75" during the day, and 0.6" from Monday, that I forgot to write down. The yard goes "squish".

By had a very good time during the training part of his trip, and an "eh" time during the quality time with his boss. Such is the way of things. His boss is talking about sending him down there again in April for a training session in advanced stone-setting. We'll see if that actually goes through.

The kids are very glad to have him back.

No work crew today. Salvage Guy operates on the principle that if it's raining at his place, he doesn't go to work. Never mind that we live an hours' drive west, and if it's raining at his place, it's likely that the storm system has already finished here. Which is vexing, but not much I can do about that.

Plan to spend the day puttering and catching up on chores. Ran the dishwasher earlier, laundry next. Maybe some baking.

I forgot to mention the most interesting thing By brought home from his trip. The facility he trained at does a company-wide cookbook, like so many places do. But this was was put together mostly by Cajuns, and some of the Laotian immigrants. haven't spent much time with it yet, but there are pages of different roux's and sauces. And cornbreads (including one with lobster). And many fine and fancy things to do to seafood. Mmmm..........
