Didn't get out to the greenhouse to water until 1pm yesterday, because grading took until lunchtime. Gak. Will do better on that today.

Had a talk with Dr G and Dr S on my way out of the greenhouse last night, so I was an hour late getting out of here. The result, though, is that Dr G now knows I'm willing to teach design next spring. (Kinda hard to say no when Dr S is standing there pointing at me and sying "that's the person you need to have teaching my class.") And I had some time to talk with Dr S about how he's got the class set up, what he's asking of them, the range of abilities and experience he's dealing with in the class. I think I can do this.

Had modified-beyond-recognition Campbell's chicken and noodle soup for dinner. Two cans of soup, plus a chicken breast, a large bunch of green onions, a red pepper from the deck, half a carton of mushrooms, and a bunch of spices. With Monday's sage and onion bread to dip in it. Mmmmmmm.

I just finished power-washing a tree.

Yes, there was a good reason. Honest.

Picked the thing up (so no, it wasn't a big tree), carried it all the way out of the greenhouse and out into the driveway, laid it down, and power-washed the bugs off. I sprayed the dang thing yesterday, so hopefully, they were all dead. If not, then a new infestation will show up now.

Note to self: bring a spare pair of pants to work, to keep in here for when I have to do things like this. I'm wet from mid-thigh down, and I've got little white bug bits all over me. Eeewwwwww.

My reward for this is to sit at my computer to work on some handouts for Donna's class, and listen to Fresh Air interview Jimmy Carter.

But we got sidetracked. First, onto some websites selling some really tempting crack gladiolus. Oooooo, shiny plants. Anyway...then we got sidetracked (well, it's kinda work-related, so maybe it's ok) onto KSU's graduate programs in hort. Intimidating. But...I remember some of the bright pennies going through the program when we were in the undergrad program, so it can't be as bad as it sounds. And Dr S is going to help us, so...the hardest part is likely to be settling down into a program of study.

AND!!! This afternoon I sent in my application for Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach landscape design. **deep breath** The boss said I had to, and he was excited about my teaching it, so I expect the "interview" will be a formality.

I'd never expected to end up teaching, when I got out of school.
