Apr. 21st, 2005 07:03 amSpent yesterday avoiding New Boss, because that's easier than explaining to the higher-up's why he's been beaten with a shovel.
Got a fair amount of productive things done yesterday, including pulling a tulip bed. Got lucky, the ladies in that building wanted the bulbs, so we left with a bag each for me and Courtney, and the rest went home with people. Endured a singularly unproductive "togetherness" meeting for grounds. New Boss and Maint Superviser seem to think we, as a department, need to communicate more, and brought us all together to ask what we thought were important problems that needed addressing. No one brought up the elephant in the room: all of the staff think New Boss is actually the problem.
Spent about an hour after work talking with Donna and "preshopping" the plant sale--basicly getting anything can go in the ground now, to get it out of her way. Cole crops, green onions and leeks, some flowers and ornamental grasses. Got most of it planted at home, too. The rest will have to wait until I can spray the edge of a bed, kill off the grass and clover that's invaded it. (Tonight, hopefully.) Didn't head into the house until almost 8:30 last night. By kept me company for a while during the planting, then he unloaded the truck. (19 free landscape blocks, woot!)
Spent what was left of the evening downloading knitting patterns, and knitting on Kiri. And scolding myself for not wearing gloves--one evening's gardening left my hands rough enough that the lace yarn caught on my skin. Bad Treeskin, no cookie.
Plan to give Donna an hour or so of transplanting after work tonight, since By's got an HSA meeting tonight. It's depressing how much isn't transplanted and ready, this close to the sale.
