I was short-sheeted by a cat last night. The furballs like to play on the bed under the covers, and the fuzzy little bastard isn't smart enough to watch out for the end of the bed , so he fell off, and took about two feet of covers with him. Bastard.

One of my main projects for work was cancelled today, the big meeting that was going to eat up my morning. Now, instead, I have a clean-up project, which needs to be done by noon. It's for the annoying railroad people, so not a big deal.

I guess our former lead groundskeeper came over to see Shop Steward yesterday. He's unemployed, as of last Friday. He said he was just working too hard, being self employed and not a big enough business to have more than occasional day labor for help. Too much work, and too much paperwork and taxes and stuff he hadn't expected. Shop Steward was trying to talk him into going to HR here, and seeing if he could be reinstated in his old job (which is still unfilled, they've not liked any of the applicants they've gotten). *crosses fingers* It'd be nice to have him back, not just because it'd be lovely to have him to run interference with the part-time staff. I'm told Shop Steward also used the opportunity to sit Turf Guy down and give him a "stick it out" talk, using our former LG as an example of what's waiting out in the real world. We'll see if it helped at all.

We're into that frantic-scramble-to-get-ready-for-the-show season. By's hard at work making things into the wee hours of the night, whcih doesn't leave me with much to do, except knit, and fetch whatever he needs. Not sure how much of what he wanted to make will be ready, but he's making progress. This will be a different show from years past, most stuff by other artists and groups, but it ought to be good. The gal Robyn hired to manage the show has helped a lot already, if only by taking over the care and feeding of the intern.

Not sure how well Frank's adjusting to our being preoccupied and not fun right now. Some of that may be him being grumpy about being unemployed (he quit at the club last week, and didn't get all of his money out of his boss). He did go apply at a couple of places yesterday afternoon, but....I think I'd be more actively job-hunting in his position. But I'm not, and he's paid us for groceries, so it's his business.

Dig that silly sage like you promised Donna last week, and bring it inside. It won't live through the freeze tonight.
