...because I spent most of my weekend being busy and a responsible adult.

We spent Sunday afternoon with Robyn, helping her with the "free for all" after her garage sale, and making sure she ate, etc. Amazing how fast stuff goes away, when it's free. Came home with a fair amount of stuff ourselves...she gave us first crack at the books, and the craft supplies.

Yesterday, Frank and I went to Ottowa, for his chiropracter's appointment, then stopped by to visit his sister there in town, then back through Lawrence to drop off recyclables, and the Merc for Frank-safe groceries....it was after 6 when we got home, and By had been home for hours puttering in the garage. (Turns out this may not be the "very busy" work week he and John were expecting, because some of the jobs they're supposed to clean up aren't that far along yet.) Frank fixed dinner, and I made two batches of bread (pull-apart garlic and mozarella cheese bread, and basic white bread rolls stuffed with veggies and herbs and vegetarian pepperoni and cheese). Dinner ended up being very late, after 9, but By was off working on his project, so that was ok. The last batch of bread came out of the oven after 10:30; I worked on cleaning up until then. Now we have leftovers in the fridge, and life is good. Note to self: more cheese in the stuffed rolls next time.

I'm doing laundry and string today. May finish cleaning the kitchen, may not. It's my day to take it easy. Oh, and I've got to look up the phone number for the hospital my sister's in, so I can see how she's doing.

Mom called last night during the cooking spree. They induced labor on Sis at 5:30 yesterday morning; the baby didn't come until 5:30 that afternoon. Sis had a lot of trouble, I'm told. Mom didn't know specifics, because she didn't want to ask that in front of Sis's husband, who passed out twice yesterday. The baby's ok, boy (which they've known for a while), 8 lbs 8 oz, 23" long, 14" head. They thought they might have broken his collarbones getting him out, but Mom said last she had heard, he was just wrenched and bruised. Sis is going in for surgery today, for repairs and to have her tubes tied, and Mom's going to stay with her a couple more days.
