The rain gauge said 3.75" when I left work Saturday. The weather channel seems to think it's going to rain again this week. Odd weather, for July in Kansas....it was 59 degrees when I got to work this morning, and we're actually above average for precipitation this month. Good for the trees.

Had a busy Sunday...[livejournal.com profile] sdemory came over for the afternoon and dinner, and [livejournal.com profile] draco_kc stopped by on his way home. By the way, [livejournal.com profile] draco_kc, I slept in until 9:30 Monday morning. Just thought I'd share.

Spent Monday running around. Ran to the bank, ran to school, to pick up By's tie-downs from Courtney and show her (and some of the other folks at work) my knitted laces, got called insane. Not like that's news. Note to self: take pictures!!! From there, I ran to Lawrence to drop the recycling off, made a quick trip through Hobby Lobby for beads and stuff for more stitch markers. It's not that I have that many projects going right now, but I seem to have that many complicated projects going right now, that I need stitch markers for. And since I ordered patterns for more complicated things, I might as well make the markers now.

Mom called last night, and gave me the story on that check she sent us. Seems she wasn't being sneaky....the IRS has been garnishing my biological father's tax returns for years, and this year she got a larger than usual chunk, so she got new glasses, and split the rest between my sister and I. Not much news beyond that. Remembered to tell her that F was moving in, and her first question was predictable...no Mom, we're not that hard up for money. He's willing to mow the yard as rent. She had a good laugh at that one.

By stopped by F's to pick up boxes last night, but they weren't ready. Will try again tonight. I cleaned some yesterday, and unpacked 5 boxes of yarn and 2 boxes of art supplies into existing storage areas (with much careful rearranging and stacking). And he's been moving the fabric stash onto an upper shelf in the sewing room. F's room isn't completely cleaned out yet, but we're getting there.

I have two big boxes of paper trimmings in the car. Can't lift either out by myself--barely got there there with Courtney helping. I *heart* the print shop manager. I ought to open the boxes up and start carrying the stuff inside, so it'll be done in a reasonable time.

Also brought home three half-filled 1-gal bagges of black currants, which are destined to become black currant mead. (No, we didn't work this afternoon, thank you for asking. We did pick currants and pick up the paper trimmings from the print shop, though.) I'll probably juice them tonight, and put that away until Fri or Sat night. Ought to be a lovely plum-purple, if the stains on my jeans are anything to judge by.
