I'm sure this isn't my fault. If my actions were going to bring on this rain, it would have rained in earnest while I was filling the 500-gal water tank the second time yesterday, instead of that piddly sprinkles stuff. No, I blame this rain on the poor schmuk who's been out painting the light poles in the parking lots all week.

Between a late shower last night and being rained on going to the car, my hair's not dry yet.

I packed extra knitting today, just in case...and my first peek at the radar confirms I'll need it. Might not get those currants picked like I'd planned. Oh well. Also packed the shawls that I've gotten finished and blocked; I'm going to stop at Donna's on the way home and show her what I've been working on.

By didn't work yesterday (not safe to play on a roof in the rain), and probably won't today as well. He did get some shelves up for fabric and stuff we're moving out of the junk room to make room for F. Nothing else, this is making us clean and sort things, and that's been good for us.

More later. I'm sure there'll be more later. It looks like rain all day.

Still raining. I have not done anything work-related yet today.

I have pulled out my "extra" knitting project, because I wanted a break from socks, and have finished 6 rows so far on the maple leaf shawl (an old UFO). And figured out how/where in the pattern I'm going to finish it, since I'm worried about having enough yarn (stash yarn, 'nuff said). So, 10 more rows, then finish the points on a dozen maple-leaf motifs, then the edging, which will be a huge pain in the ass, as it's worked all the way around the WHOLE thing, all at once. Bad designer, no cookie.

Just for the record, the rain gauge here reads about an inch and an eighth, so far. It's still raining. Cold, too.

Still raining. Rain gauge is over an inch and a half now. The boss was here a little while ago, looking bored. We looked bored at him until he went away. He's off to watch how the water drains away from and around the nearly-finished parking garage. That's bored.

I'm going to drink my tea, and watch it rain.

Phoned By, who is planning something warm and yummy for dinner--did I mention that the temperature has gone from 65 degrees at 6am to 55 degrees now? Yikes. Think we're going to skip the party tonight. Much as we'd like to see everyone, it's coldish, and wet, and that house will be loud and crowded, and we're already tired from this week, and we really ought to do responsible adult things and clean some more.

Still raining. The rain gauge here at the shop reads 3.25" now. So much for the forecasted 1/2-3/4" for the day. Hope [livejournal.com profile] draco_kc isn't washing down the hill on his camping trip.

Donna called while I was eating, saying she was at the greenhouse, so I finished my lunch and headed over there with the knitting I'd brought for show-and-tell. Kinda nice to have the big tables in the classroom to spread the shawls out on. She had brought in some lace that Myrna had given her, neither of them knowing what it was (just simple wheels of teneriffe sewn together, but very dainty and pretty). One of her greenhouse groupies was over, and is trying to convince me people would pay for the lace shawls I make. Maybe, but I'm not sure I want to go to the work of finding those people.

Anyway, I'm back at the shop, getting ready to settle down and knit some more. Sent the shop-grunt home, wish the boss would send us home. It's way too wet to get anything done today.

Still raining. Not brave enough to venture back out in the wet, but it looks like the rain gauge is up to 3.5", maybe a bit more. Sheesh.

Obviously, not knitting. Ended up on a google-led tour of small collage art pieces. I can think of worse ways to spend Sat afternoon.
