Work is there. It's been a long week, and I'm tired enough that I really don't want to go spray. But it does need doing, badly in some spots. (The track around the baseball field is green and fuzzy.)

Talked to Mom last night. Sis got that job she applied for, and the higher ups at her company are investigating why, three weeks after her new supervisor started, two of the three people who worked for him asked to be transfered. She'll be there for another three weeks, I think, but she's no longer on call, because of how pregnant she is, so she'll get more sleep and more time with her family. And the new job won't have any time on-call, no out-of-town trips all the way across Kansas to pick up foster kids, none of that nonsense she's been doing for the past four years. I guess they haven't had any applicants for Sis's soon-to-be-vacant position yet, which is funny, because that'll mean her supervisor will have to pick up her 38 cases (twice as many as her coworkers had).

Just one of those days when the public at large gets on my nerves. Starting with all the politicians and their !@#$@#$ campaign signs. Excuse me, what part of "No Soliciting On Campus" do you not understand? I'm sick of picking these things up. I have resolved that I will not vote for someone whose campaign signs I have to pick up more than once, so from today's trash, add: Adam Taff (don't know who he is or why he needs a 5' sign, or why that sign needed to be in my buffalo grass), Kris Kobach (2 signs today!), and somebody names Vroptril, or something like that. Don't know what you're running for, or what you've got to say, I'm tired of cleaning up after you.

And dog owners. Why do dog owners think it's ok to bring their badly trimmed poodles to campus and let them shit all over the gardens? It's not ok in their yards, or their neighbors yards. And why do they all look so surprised when I remind than that the city leash laws apply on campus too?

(Please note that I know some of my friends are responsible dog owners, and I applaud them for that. However, none of them live in Johnson County.)

Grrrrrr.

after thieving the college's toner and 75 pieces of paper taking a few moments to print off a book (yes, a whole book!) of recorder quartets...Opusculum Neuwer Pauanen/Galliarden/Couranten/vnnd Volte compiled by Thomas Simpson in 1610. Woo-hoo. Even had a notebook handy to put it in. I do love the college's hihg-speed connection. Don't think the modem at home could have handled downloading a 75-pg pdf.
