Not much new to report

Work is there. It's been a long week, and I'm tired enough that I really don't want to go spray. But it does need doing, badly in some spots. (The track around the baseball field is green and fuzzy.)
Talked to Mom last night. Sis got that job she applied for, and the higher ups at her company are investigating why, three weeks after her new supervisor started, two of the three people who worked for him asked to be transfered. She'll be there for another three weeks, I think, but she's no longer on call, because of how pregnant she is, so she'll get more sleep and more time with her family. And the new job won't have any time on-call, no out-of-town trips all the way across Kansas to pick up foster kids, none of that nonsense she's been doing for the past four years. I guess they haven't had any applicants for Sis's soon-to-be-vacant position yet, which is funny, because that'll mean her supervisor will have to pick up her 38 cases (twice as many as her coworkers had).
The UnSock Report: Did the last three rounds on the shawl (the one in single-ply wool) last night....and the last round took twice as long as it should have, because I was dozing off as I was knitting, and when that happens, my fingers stop moving and I drop stitches. I'm hoping to get it bound off tonight.
The Sock Report: Started another pair of socks, not sure who they're for just yet, I'm just using up the sock yarn in the stash. This is Opal Brazil...a very bright self-striping wool/nylon blend. The yarn's busy enough I probably won't do any texture patterning, I don't think it'd show up. Got the toe finished on the first sock while it was raining yesterday morning.
Still have a pile of stuff, socks and otherwise, waiting for me to sew the ends in. Gak. I'm such a slacker. Maybe I'll take it with me to do in the car tomorrow.
