This article discusses a Michigan town's decision to allow a mosque to air the call to prayer over a loudspeaker 5 times a day. No big deal. But some of the town fundies say it's "an imposition" and that church bells are different, because they don't have a religious significance. Would someone please explain that logic to me?

I started the Tigger afghan last night. I'm 4 rows into the color changes, and I already have 15 ends of yarn to juggle. And I'm not up to the intense stripey part yet. I cut up a cardboard box to make bobbins to hold all the bits, and make it easier to untangle....there's no hope of preventing tangle in this mess. They add more weight than I'd like, but they help.

I'm going to take a picture of the in-progress mess when it's about half done, ends everywhere and a big blue and black and orange tangle, and send it to my sister with a note saying "Don't ask for another one."

By the end of the 4th row of colorwork, I will have 20 ends per row on this sucker. It's beginning to look like some strange bit of 60's pop art, or a really elaborate cat toy.

This is the first piece of crocheteing I've done that rattled. It's very odd.

I and my mess are going to turn on a movie now, and crochet and snuggle with the hot pad on my back.
