Last night was singularly unproductive, just felt off kilter all evening. Hope whatever was making Courtney sick yesterday afternoon isn't catching. Blech. Started another temari, but didn't get very far. I take that back, I got far enough to realize the idea I'd been playing with in my head would't work with the division I was using. I got far enough to change my mind and rip it out 3 times. Maybe I got more done that I thought.

The current temari is 3" diam, dark teal/green base, black sparkly marking thread, and a variation of a chrysanthemum pattern, in white and shaded blues. Very graphic. The stitching's about half done.

By doesn't have to be in to work until 6 tonight, so I'll get to see him for a little while after I get home; that'll be nice. Robyn is renting the building for the Hope House Art Auction tonight. By's taking the camera; I guess the decorations are really something this year.

rambling about recorders and a possible new activity )

Pobably going to spend this evening catching up on phone calls; it's a good thing to do when I'm spending the evening by myself. Haven't called Mom this week (oops!), and haven't talked to Brenda in a long time. Might pester Woody, if he's not too busy doing homework.

Got a non-string project planned for this weekend. My "show drawer" of temari is getting full, and I need another storage system for the ones I'm not going to give away. I'm going to try makig bottoms and lids for some of the cardboard tubes By's been bringing home (it's a lont story, ask him if you really want to know), line them with trash sacks filched from work, and use those for storage. I'd be able to sort the temari by color or size, and write such things on the tube, then stack them out of the way, where I won't raid the "save for a show" stash for presents this holiday season. Meanwhile, I'll still have a drawer partly full of temari, that are for presents. It's organized! Or it will be if it works.

My other weekend project is to dig up some of the eucalyptus plants, pot them, and move them into the greenhouse. They ought to be okay there for the winter; euc's are supposed to be hardy to about 20 degrees.

That reminds me, must remember to snag a small bag of mulch today, so I can tuck mulch around the bonsai for the winter. And run through the greenhouse garden and get some more peppers to freeze, and marigolds for petal beads (I used the ones I picked last time for something else).

I can go home soon.

Haven't gotten a damn thing done today, other than pick up trash. Had a lovely afternoon IM'ing with [livejournal.com profile] classcs_cat, and printing off sheet music I found on the web. And some finger-flexibility exercses for recorders. Did lots of printing today.

Dinner will be waiting when I get home, because By's such a sweetie. That'll give me time for a quick snuggle before he has to leave for work.
