Argh.

Good thing I'm just watering today. I left around 5:30 last night, got home after six. Blech. If I hussle today, I can (hopefully!) get the rest of the trees watered during my regular hours. I'm tired of being here.

Ah, my erstwhile coworker (the other Dave) has finally decided to show up. Three times (or is it four?) in the last two weeks he's been 30 min or more late. Must be nice to sleep in a bit.

The sock report: Almost done with the sport weight spiral rib socks....worked on it some last night, so I've got about 15 rnds before the toe shaping. I'll have them done this morning. Tried on the finished one; I hadn't expected to stretch enough to fit my calves, but it did, and seemed like it would stay up. Must do another pair, only a couple inches longer, then I'll have some knee-socks for winter.

My secondary project for the day is to start on [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat's Turkish socks. Black and off white at the toe, red on off white for the rest. Need to finish charting out the Greek letters she did for me, to sign the socks with.

Finished the sport weight spiral rib socks, then happily discovered I'd remembered to put both socks and a yarn needle in the bag, so all the ends are tidied up, too. Done, done, done.

Charted the signature bit for the Greek-pattern socks; will cast on and start while I'm filling the tank. Again.

Did I mention it's a REALLY slow day at work today?

I really do think about something besides knitting, rather often as a matter of fact, but there's not much else to do in the trunk in between moving the hose. Yes, I'm bored. I've already heard the playlist for the three radio stations I can stand, once through each, today. Should have got batteries for the boom box and brought some cd's or something

Anyway, the sock update (because there's not enough progress yet for a full report)--got a bit more than half of the toe done so far. Note to self: next time, fiddle with the pattern until it's an odd number of stitches across. Getting those first few rounds of increases to line up right is a real bugger otherwise. The shape at the point of the toe is a little different form the other socks I've done with this pattern (all odd numbers of sts on a side), but it's not bad, I think.

I played with key and mosaic patterns last night, and got one I think will work for the sweater. I set it aside for a while, on the table where I can see it every time I walk past. I was still undecided about it last night ( my second opinion/design staff being out of town, and unavailabe to help me with these things). Definitely want to save it for a sock pattern, whatever else I do with it.
