Good news/Bad news
Jun. 17th, 2003 07:53 amTalked to Mom last night after her check-up. The doc said that she was healing up properly from the surgery. And, they'd gotten the test back on the parts they'd taken out.....they'd missed it on the original biopsy, but it was cancer. The good news--it was stage one, which means it was still encapsulated, and they got it all. No chemo/raditation/etc. That does explain why they took as much out as they did, and why her innards were all rearranged after surgery.
Whew.
Mom's pretty spooked; can't say as I blame her. I don't think she's going to tell Grandma; it's over and done with, and Grandma would worry herself into a frenzy.
They'd told Mom originally that the biopsy indicated there probably would be cancer in a year or so; I'm really glad she decided to do the surgery and get it over with.
